I am interested in finding out more about where your meat and animal products come from. I love the fact that you’re working towards sustainable fish options. Do you have similar campaigns concerning farming?

We like keeping things local and try to do so whenever possible because it is an important way to have a positive green impact as well as a great way to support the local economy. PSU has a ton of local sources for food you’re eating every day on campus. All of the hamburger beef in the Smith Center food court comes from Country Natural Beef, a co-op based in eastern Oregon. Milk comes to campus from Sunshine Dairy. All of the milk it sources is from family farms in the Willamette & Yakima Valleys. The eggs in your omelets at the Ondine are local too, traveling under 150 miles from Stiebrs Farms in Yelm, WA. To learn more about sustainability on campus, check out the green thread link on your dining page.
