How does ARAMARK support buying fair trade products?

JCU and ARAMARK work together to support fair trade through the offering of 100% fair trade coffee and espresso products throughout the two Java City locations on campus as well as in catering services, the food court, and at Schott Dining Hall. The transition to 100% happened this past fall and has been a huge success. Through the sponsorship of Fair Trade CertifiedTM, as well as direct relationships with various farms, Java City’s Eco-Grounds program joins forces with coffee growers to guarantee a fair price for their coffee - a price that contributes to creating a better quality of life for those working on the farms and to improving farming practices for higher quality crops, cultivated with sustainable practices that promote ecosystem conservation. Java City’s Eco-Grounds program offers several Fair Trade certified coffees in a variety of taste profiles. Partnering with Java City and the JUSTICE organization on campus, ARAMARK & JCU were able to bring responsible cups of coffee & espresso to students, faculty and staff.
