What are some healthy ways to eat for college students?

Eating at college may seem a little intimidating, but making healthy choices doesn't have to be difficult. Here are a few general nutrition principles from our trusty partners at the American Dietetic Association.

  1. Develop a plan that includes enjoying food and maintaining a healthy weight.
  2. Space meals three to four hours apart.
  3. Include a small amount of protein and carbohydrates at each meal. Try cheese and crackers, ceareal and milk, or yogurt and fruit.
  4. Always eat from a plate. Grabbing from boxes and bowls is tempting when you're busy studying, but it can easily lead to overeating.
