FSU Dining, students and staff go dark to shed light on sustainability

On March 28, ARAMARK joined students and staff to sponsor "Dine in the Dark" on the Florida State University campus. This successful event was part of the World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour, which asked people across the globe to promote sustainability by turning their lights off between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM. Students Bring Farmer's Market to Campus

When students in the Brandeis University Greening class wanted to focus their class project on sustainability and bringing more local produce to campus, ARAMARK was happy to help. Now, thanks to their efforts, Brandeis has an on-campus farmer's market. Better yet, 100% of the market's proceeds are being "recycled" back into the innovative Greening class. Read more.

 
Working Toward Zero Waste

ARAMARK is working with its campus partners to incorporate Zero Waste practices – the process of safely recycling all materials back into nature or the marketplace in a manner that protects human health and the environment – into their sustainability plans. Programs include tray-less dining, composting, recycling and implementing reusable utensils and packaging. Several ARAMARK campus partners have already made commitments to Zero Waste practices, including Portland State University, the University of Florida, Baylor University, Brandeis University, Salem College, Elon University and many more.
